MFJ 58 will be our 35th anniversary issue. We invited over 40 distinguished scholars of artists’ cinema to contribute. The title of the issue is “Since 78″ (MFJ No. 1 was published in 1978). Here’s what we sent out: “We invite your text chronicling any aspect of moving image art within the period of the journal’s existence — from 1978 to the present. MFJ 58 will be a reflection on and compendium of 35 years of artists’ moving image works.” There have been many enthusiastic responses. If just half the promised texts come in, the issue will be double-sized. You can pre-order the issue here Since we don’t know how big it will be, we are asking our regular price as a pre-publication discount — $9.00 + shipping. The price will increase as we the editing process continues and we begin to estimate the page count.
